The paper investigates the impact of the institutional aspects of the innovation–adoption process on the success of its implementation. more specifically, we concentrate on the adoption of five information technologies using a data set from the aerospace and defense industries. This paper explores the reasons for decline in the adoption diffusion research agenda by sociologists and its emergence as a major research program by economists and technologists. The goal of the diffusion research institute is to discover, develop, and disseminate actionable, prescriptive methods for accelerating the adoption of meaningful innovations. In this article, we will delve into the concept of technological diffusion, its significance in the rhetoric of technology, and examine the factors that influence the adoption and integration of new technologies.
