I'm looking for communities where i can share my progress with other people who are starting out, get feedback and help, potentially recruit team members, and generally just have a place to casually talk about my game and talk with other people who are in a similarly amateur position. Personally i'd like to know if anyone knows of any chat rooms or super active game dev forums. Communities are places where your fellow game developers are and it’s definitely worth considering to be active on some of them. there you can chat about various development challenges, ask for help, look for testers, promote games, and so much more. Twitter, reddit, and discord are the main ones i can think of. my experience for my first steam release: discord is a very popular way for fans of a game to chat about it. my community isn't large, but i think they've been very important for providing feedback. i'm on it every day and try to respond to everyone. instagram.
