A les paul design guitar is a difficult guitar to fabricate and assemble quickly at any stage. it requires time, patience, and meticulous work to do correctly and well. it's not the kind of guitar that lends itself to speedy, profitable mass production efficiency, even when it's a kit. B. if the guitar has been stored unplayed for quite a long time, the copper content of the so called "18% nickel silver" fretwire begins to dull and then to turn green. this will happen to a virtually unplayed guitar but any trace of human skin oil/acids will accelerate the discoloration (stainless steel fretwire is resistant to this phenomenon). Am i on the right lines here? what could be causing the action on a guitar to be too low on the first couple of frets but too high beyond the 12th, and what is the way to fix it? perhaps i have already answered my own question, but i wanted to get some opinions from this forum. thanks. Do not deepen the nut slots to get the strings flush, you will get string buzz and will have to get a brand new nut installed. again, the action is low enough at fret 1 on your guitar. if you wish to improve your lp easily, here's what you should do imo: lubricate the nut slots (ordinary vaseline does the job just fine and it's very affordable).
