It is one of several severe zoonotic diseases with pandemic potential in the presence of sustained human to human transmission. this course provides a general introduction to the disease and is intended for personnel involved in avian and other zoonotic influenza outbreak preparedness and response. This manual is part of a training package that was developed by the pan american health organization (paho) with the objective of providing professionals in healthcare facilities with necessary tools for the rapid identifi cation and proper management of cases with pandemic potential.
