National computational infrastructure (nci australia) is a world class supercomputer and data science hub. it supports high performance computing (hpc) and ai applications, cloud computing, and data storage on a 100% green grid with over 8000 australian and international users. Here is the story of how australia's fastest supercomputer, gadi, was built. gadi performs over nine quadrillion (nine thousand trillion) operations per second. Abstract: australia’s national computational infrastructure (nci australia) is a tier 1 provider of high performance computing and data services for australian researchers spanning the higher education, government agency and industry sectors. This partnership opens up another avenue of hpc access for the whole monash research community, providing them with access to a tier 1 supercomputing facility in australia without needing to apply through the annual national merit allocation scheme.
